Mortar(NS)

DESCRIPTION:

AT-MORTAR (NS) is a chemical admixture in dry powdered form which is specifically formulated to provide long term protection in rendering/plastering mortar, masonry mortar and concrete masonry units. AT-MORTAR (NS) is a specially formulated product to compensate shrinkage and promote expansion when used with cement and other hydraulic binder combinations with cement such as fly ash, silica fume, ground granulated blast furnace slag, metakaolin and sulfate resistant cement.

STANDARDS:

It complies with AS: 2073 – 1977 (Method for Testing Of Expanding Admixtures for Concrete, Mortar and Grout)

RECOMMENDED USAGE:

• AT-MORTAR (NS) can be used in the formulation of cementitious mortars, grouts, and etc.
• Use of AT-MORTAR(NS) to provide permanent protection for:
  • Rendering and plastering mortar (including stucco and other thin topping mixes) over concrete masonry walls or other prepared substrates
  • Masonry mortar (i.e., mortar that goes between the masonry units)
  • Concrete masonry units (i.e., blocks when they are manufactured

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES:

DOSAGE:

• Recommended addition levels are between 0.3 –0.5% by weight of formulation.
• Depending on the formulation and raw materials used, higher dosage levels can also be used based on site conditions.

PACKAGING & STORAGE:

• AT-MORTAR (NS) is hygroscopic in nature and therefore should be stored clear on ground on pallets; in a cool and dry environment
• AT-MORTAR (NS) is available in 25 kg HDPE barrel
• Shelf life is 6 months in original & sealed packing
• Keep packing in cool, dry place away from heat, cold and moisture

HEALTH & SAFETY:

• Protect hands with rubber gloves and eyes with goggles.
• Accidental splashes to the skin or eyes must be rinsed immediately with clean water.
• Store in well-labeled containers.
• If required get medical attention.
