DESCRIPTION:
AT-ANTICARB is a water-based, high-build, flexible & breathable elastomeric protective coating based on acrylic co-polymers. It is a single component emulsion of brush-able consistency; when it gets cured provides excellent resistance to aggressive agents, UV rays and rain. AT-ANTICARB has excellent crack-bridging & anti-carbonation properties even at low temperatures.
USES:
- AT-ANTICARB is suitable as a seamless and elastomeric waterproofing coating for timber, fiber, cement and zinc sheets, asphalt, built-up felt and tiles. It is specially designed for the protection of concrete structures against carbonation and chloride ingress. Areas of application are:
- External concrete surfaces
- Bridges and fly-over
- Basement car parking, underpasses, traffic tunnels
- RC Roof Decks
- Balconies and Terraces
- In any concrete repair works – as a protective coating
ADVANTAGES:
- High diffusion resistance against CO2 reducing the rate of carbonation
- Excellent crack bridging properties
- Reduced tendency to dirt pick-up and contamination
- High build – masks imperfections in substrates
- Breathable – allows water vapour permeability
- Solvent-free, eco friendly
- Single pack – ease of application can be applied with brush or airless spray
- Available in many colours
COVERAGE:
- Coverage of AT-ANTICARB will depend on the nature of surface and its porosity
- Approximate coverage : 0.20-0.50 kg /m2 per coat (depending on the surface)
INSTRUCTION FOR USE:
- SURFACE PREPARATION
- If considered necessary, substrates should be primed with AT-BOND COAT. New surfaces should be clean, sound and dry.
- Concrete must be free of coating such as mould oil and any laitance should be removed, following which the surface can be primed with AT-BOND COAT. Old surfaces must also be clean, sound and dry. Glossy surfaces should be roughened to provide a key. Lichen, moss or fungal growth must be removed. Chalky or friable surfaces, or previously decorated surfaces which are flaking, should be wire-brushed to remove loose materials and then stabilised by one coat of AT-BOND COAT.
- Surface cracks can be covered with AT-ANTICARB – ensure material is brushed well into crack.
- APPLICATION
- It is recommended that the coating is well stirred prior to use. Two-coat application is recommended – apply by brush or long haired roller. Apply undiluted AT-ANTICARB @ 0.20-0.50 kg/m2 per coat. Allow to the first coat to dry for at least 6 hours or until it is touch dry, before applying the second coat.
- AT-ANTICARB should be applied when ambient or surface temperatures are above 4°C. Do not apply below 4ºC, or when rain is expected.
- CLEANING
- Clean brushes or roller in water immediately after use.
- If they become clogged, soak in very hot water containing a mild detergent.
