DESCRIPTION:
AT-PLAST (AEA) is a ready-to-use air-entraining admixture for concrete. STANDARD: AT-PLAST (AEA) complies with ASTM C 260 and IS 9103
USES:
- AT-PLAST (AEA) can be used to produce high number of correctly sized and evenly distributed air pores in cementitious mix. AT-PLAST (AEA) can be used to produce easily workable and durable concrete for Roads, Runways, Taxiways, Aprons, Dams, Reservoirs and Mass Concrete Structures.
ADVANTAGES:
- It increases frost resistance
- It is resistant to de-icing salts
- It improves durability and workability of concrete
- Increases cohesion of the cementitious mix reducing the risk of segregation
- It also improves the use of harsh aggregates
- Does not affect the setting time even in case of over dosage
DOSAGE:
- 0.03-0.15% by weight of cement
- Exact dosage rates are determined by site trials
- Adjustment has to be made to the dosage rate in order to completely control the amount of air entrainment
APPLICATION:
- AT-PLAST (AEA) is added to the mixing water prior to its addition to the concrete mix.
- In no situation, it should be added to the dry mix.
- Exact dosage should be ascertained by carrying out site trials with air meter.
- Factors affecting the air content includes: type, grading and proportion of sand, cement and aggregates, cement content per m3, type and fineness of cement, W/C ratio and temperature.
