Rust Coat

DESCRIPTION:

AT-RUST COAT is a cement based polymer modified anti-corrosive protective coating formulated to inhibit the corrosion of reinforcing steel.

USES:

• AT-RUST COAT is used in steel and concrete for protection from corrosion and carbonation. It is used in reinforcement with insufficient cover, corroded reinforcement in reinforced/pre-stressed concrete, repair of damaged concrete due to deicing salt effect, preventive protection of reinforcing bars, especially in slim reinforced concrete sections.

ADVANTAGES:

• AT-RUST COAT is a two component cement bases polymer coating for steel. Key benefits are:
  • Easy to use, factory-proportioned kits.
  • Excellent adhesion to steel and concrete.
  • Good bonding coat for subsequent cement based repair mortar.

COVERAGE:

• The average consumption of AT-RUST COAT is 3.6-4 kg/sq mt for 2 coats depending on the type of application.

APPLICATION:

• The surface should be duly cleaned and the two components should be mixed in their proper mixing ratio (Comp A : Comp B = 1:4 by weight)
• Before application, the surrounding concrete should be saturated surface dry.
• Apply first coat approximately 1 mm thick on to the prepared reinforcement steel by using a medium stiff brush
• It is unavoidable that AT-RUST COAT should be applied on to the surrounding concrete, which is by no means a disadvantage.
• The second coat may be applied in the same method after waiting time of approximately 2 hours
• The cement based mortars for repair, can be applied after the same time

PACKAGING & STORAGE:

• AT-RUST COAT is available in the following pack:
  • 1 .25 kg PACK [ COMPONENT A 0.25 kg & COMPONENT B 1 kg ]
• Protect COMPONENT A from frost and COMPONENT B from moisture
• Shelf life is 12 months in sealed containers as provided
• Protect AT-RUST COAT from direct sunlight
• Keep containers sealed and away from heat and cold in a well ventilated area
• Stir material well before use

HEALTH & SAFETY:

• Protect hands with rubber gloves and eyes with goggles.
• Accidental splashes to the skin or eyes must be rinsed immediately with clean water.
• Store in well-labeled containers.
