DESCRIPTION:
AT-EPOXY COAT is a two component epoxy resin based waterproofing compound. One part consists of epoxy resin and the other part consist the curing agent. After mixing both the components it can be made thinner by adding water. It possesses all the attributes of normal solvent based epoxy compositions such as excellent water and chemical resistance, adhesion, hardness, toughness and mechanical strength.
STANDARDS:
Confirms to US – FDA 175.300, IS- 13239 – 1991, IS- 101(Part6, Sec 3) – 1990
ADVANTAGES:
- Protect cementitious structures against weathering
- Resistant to oil and grease
- Weather-proof
- Mild dew-resistant
- Solvent free
- Suitable for portable water reservoirs
- Easy to apply
- Adheres to damp surfaces
- Odourless
USES:
- Applied on concrete, rendering, stone, asbestos and cement
- Protective coating against weathering and mild chemical attack in areas such as cantilevers, galleries, retaining walls, basements, workshops, reservoirs and balconies
INSTRUCTION FOR USE:
SURFACE PREPARATION:
- Concrete substrates must be prepared mechanically using grinding equipment, abrasive blast cleaning or scarifying equipment to remove cement laitance and achieve an open textured surface.
- Weak concrete must be removed and surface defects such as blowholes and voids must be fully exposed.
- Repairs to the substrate, filling of blowholes/voids and surface levelling must be carried out using appropriate products from the ADO range of materials.
- The concrete or screed substrate has to be primed or levelled in order to achieve an even surface.
- High spots must be removed by e.g. grinding.
- All dust, loose and friable material must be completely removed from all surfaces before application of the product, preferably by brush and/or vacuum.
MIXING:
- Part A : Part B = 1 : 1 (by weight)
- Consistency after mixing = Free flowing smooth paste
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
- Mixing Part A : Part B = 1 : 1 (by weight)
- Mixing Time Prior to mixing, stir part A mechanically. When all of Part B has been added to Part A, mix continuously for 2 minutes until a uniform mix has been achieved.
- To ensure thorough mixing pour materials into another container and mix again to achieve a consistent mix.
- Over mixing must be avoided to minimise air entrainment.
- Mixing Tools AT-EPOXY COAT must be thoroughly mixed using a low speed electric stirrer (300 – 400rpm) or other suitable equipment.
APPLICATION METHOD / TOOLS
- Primer:
- Make sure that a continuous; pore free coat covers the substrate.
- Wall coating:
- Apply AT-EPOXY COAT by roller.
CLEANING OF TOOLS
- Clean all tools and application equipment with water immediately after use.
- Hardened and/or cured material can only be removed mechanically.
COVERAGE:
- AT-EPOXY COAT primer / finish coat: 70 – 80 sq ft per kg per coat (depending upon the surface)
- AT-EPOXY COAT OP cement putty: 20 – 25 sq ft per 3 kg mix per coat (depending upon the surface)
- Minimum 2 coats is required to obtain the desired result
- Tools should be cleaned with thinner or any equivalent product
