AT-DF is a highly stable, long-lasting, “reacted” silicone defoamer which virtually eliminates problems associated with improperly emulsified silicone oils found in most silicone defoamers. Readily dispersible, AT-DF is effective under a broad range of conditions including high -temperature and pressure processes.
Selecting a defoamer involves far more than evaluating its efficiency to kill foam. The product must be finely balanced to control foam, yet have the stability necessary to prevent any negative effects caused by the active defoaming ingredients. However AT-DF can be used in the following areas:
STABILITY OF DEAFOAMING STRENGTH Unlike other silicone defoamers AT-DF is stable in baths containing high concentrations of electrolytes which can come from one or more of the following sources:
AT-DF is compatible with most admixtures used in the production of quality concrete including normal, other mid-range and high-range water-reducing admixtures, air entertainers, accelerators, retarders, extended set control admixtures, corrosion inhibitors, and shrinkage reducers. AT-DF is also compatible with slag and Pozzolans such as fly ash and silica fume
CAUTION: The effect of AT-DF is dependent upon the cement properties and the type of plasticizers used in the concrete mix.
