DESCRIPTION:
BUILDMOR TBM is a highly versatile thin bed adhesive mortar for joining Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) Blocks, Flyash Bricks, Concrete Blocks, etc to build load-bearing and partition walls. BUILDMOR TBM is developed keeping in mind harsh Indian climatic conditions and usage of automated mixing machines. The high flexibility and bonding strength of BUILDMOR TBM makes it suitable for modern construction, replacing conventional cement and sand mix mortar.
STANDARDS:
Confirms to ASTM C1660-10, ASTM C144, ASTM C150, ASTM C270, ASTM C270 Type N
FEATURES & BENEFITS:
- A versatile and thin jointing material
- High adhesion strength
- Excellent flexibility
- Pre-mixed and ready-to-use. Only water is to be mixed at site
- Cost effective – eliminates lengthy and cumbersome processes of site mixing
- Easy mixing and faster application
- No water curing is required
- Minimizes undulation of surface
- Thin layer property results in compacted structure and minimum water percolation
- Selected and graded raw materials are used, thus reducing chances of efflorescence
- Eco-friendly product
TYPICAL APPLICATION:
- BUILDMOR TBM is highly recommended for:
- Building load-bearing and partition walls with AAC blocks
- Suitable for both Internal & External usage
APPLICATION INSTRUCTION:
- SURFACE PREPARATION
- All surfaces should be clean, dry free from oil, grease, chemical contamination and any loose materials for better bonding.
- Concrete should be sufficiently cured to avoid any further shrinkage.
- The surface must be structurally sound.
- For larger surface inconsistencies / defects; such as cracks, holes or voids should be repaired prior to the application of BUILDMOR TBM.
- Efflorescence and any other contaminant which could hamper the natural bonding should be removed prior to application.
- MIXING
- BUILDMOR TBM to be mixed with clean and salt-free water properly and thoroughly before use. It is always advisable to use a mechanical stirrer for uniform and thorough mixing to save time and labour and also to ensure maximum workability.
- Mix in a clean vessel to achieve uniform lump free consistency and allow the mixed material to stand-by for 5 minutes.
- Then mix again thoroughly before use.
- Mixing Ratio – Clean potable water (approximately 25% – 30%) by weight of the powder is required to be mixed depending upon the thickness.
- Water can be incrementally added in stages to get a smooth, uniform and workable mix.
- Allow considerable time for initial mixing.
- Full bags (25 kg) should ideally be mixed in the mixing machine at slow speed.
- Part bags should be mixed using a slow speed drill and mixing paddle.
- APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
- Dampen the substrate with clean and salt-free water directly prior to application.
- Apply 3 mm to 5 mm uniform layer of material with notched trowel on the surface and then embed the masonry unit (like AAC block, Flyash brick, Concrete block, etc) with firm pressure on the mortar bed.
- Place the next course of masonry units on the evenly laid jointing mortar bed in proper line & level. Each masonry unit should be properly bedded and set in position by gently pressing with the handle of the trowel.
- After placing the first unit, apply BUILDMOR TBM of same thickness on both the sides of the unit, keeping continuous check for line & level.
- Inside face of the masonry unit should be buttered with mortar before the next unit is laid and pressed against it especially in case of bricks.
- Clean the excess material, if any immediately. Continue the procedure for the entire masonry work.
- Don’t exceed maximum thickness per layer of 5 mm.
- CURING:
- Cure for 2 – 3 days before rendering.
- Best cures between 5°C and 35°C.
- During rapid drying conditions such as hot climate, curing with a fine spray of clean water may be required.
